Frequently Asked Questions
What is the LRCC Bike Hub?
The Bike Hub is a community-run, DIY bicycle workshop. We provide the space, tools, and repair stands you need to fix your own bike.
Do you fix my bike for me?
No we do not. We are a “do-it-together” shop. Our volunteer mechanics guide you and teach you how to do the repair yourself.
How much does it cost to use the Hub?
We aim to keep cycling accessible. Usage is typically based on a suggested donation.
Can I book an appointment?
No. We do not take appointments under any circumstances. It’s first come first served.
Do you sell bike parts?
Sort of. We have a modest amount of used parts available for a small fee and stock some basics like tubes and cables.
Do you sell bikes?
Sort of. We often sell refurbished bikes on Wednesday evening at the South Osborne Farmers Market. The money made from this helps fund other programming of ours, like our free after school drop in program.
Can I donate my old bike to the Hub?
Absolutely. We accept donations of bikes and parts in decent condition. We either fix them up for community programs or strip them for parts to help others keep their bikes on the road.
Is the Bike Hub open year-round?
No. Our hours fluctuate depending on grant funding and the availability of our volunteers. Please double-check our current hours before heading down.
Do you have social media?
No.
