Thematic Adult Stretch and Strength
Focuses on bodyweight exercise and yoga stretches for flexibility and muscle building. Each night has a specific musical theme. Bring a Yoga Mat, Indoor Gym Shoes and Water.

Autumn Adult Dance Classes
All adult classes consist of 10 week sessions
Contemporary & Combo
Tuesdays Sept 9-Nov 18 (no class Nov 11). 6:30-7:30pm. $100 whole session or $12 drop in.
The contemporary combo class will begin with a warm-up that incorporates elements and terminology from contemporary and modern dance styles during the first quarter of the class. The remaining three quarters will be dedicated to learning and performing a dance combination, with a new routine introduced each week.

Contemporary Technique
Our contemporary dance class combines different styles, focusing on fluidity, body awareness, and emotional expression. It encourages creativity and spontaneity in movement.

Creative Movement
An introduction to music and dance, promoting creativity and body awareness.

Music and Movement
Thursdays, June 5 – June 26. Age 6-12. 5:30-6:30. $40 or $12 drop in
This class combines introductory dance and musical theatre, exploring ballet, jazz, hip hop, and lyrical dance while incorporating basic music theory, performance skills, and creative activities. Students will engage in structured exercises, collaborative work, and develop acting, expression, and musicality.
Parents and Tots
Engages toddlers and their older partners in rhythmic and movement activities.

Family Dance Class
Wednesdays, June 4 – June 25. Ages 4-7. 1:00-1:45pm. $50 or $15 drop in
The Family Dance class welcomes families of all ages to engage in a dynamic and creative dance experience. Focusing on exploration and imaginative expression, participants will collaborate through the use of props, storytelling, and interactive games. This session provides an opportunity for families to connect, foster teamwork, and enjoy a fun, movement-based activity together.

About our instructor:
Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba (Treaty 1 Territory), Brooke is a contemporary dance artist, educator, and choreographer. She began dancing under the direction of Paula Blair and later graduated from the Senior Professional Program at The School of Contemporary Dancers in 2021.
Brooke’s work focuses on creation and performance, using dance to tell stories and connect with audiences. She has performed in works by Stephanie Ballard, Hilary James, and Paula Blair, and is currently an Artist in Residence at New Dance Horizons, mentored by Robin Poitras, C.M., and Edward Poitras.
Affectionately known as “Ms. Brooke” to thousands of young dancers, she has been teaching since 2017 and currently works with The School of Contemporary Dancers and various community centres. She teaches a range of styles including jazz, contemporary, ballet, and creative movement, and is passionate about inspiring the next generation of dancers.
Brooke is also a former board member with Young Lungs Dance Exchange and continues to contribute to Winnipeg’s dance community through performance, mentorship, and collaborative creation.
